Alchemy Story Finest Himalayan Cashmere
Industry Facts

As Handloom is done without electricity, so no greenhouse gases are emitted from the process. In fact, the carbon footprint of handloom is so small that it is practically immeasurable.

The beauty of handloom lies in dedication and patience craftsman puts onto it. The artistry & craftsmanship of the tailors makes us feel rooted, give us a sense of belonging to our culture, nature, and history. The art of handloom is a traditional hand skill that has been passed down for generations. Some of the most beautiful textile arts rely on the handloom and no machine can replace it.

A typical Cashmere is produced from machines that consume an incredible amount of power and dyed using artificial dyes. At Alchemy Story we clean the yarn, loom by hand without any chemicals. Since we are not using chemicals to make the cashmere products, the fibres are not damaged and remain as soft as nature intended and increasing the durability of the products. Our Cashmere yarn is made from hand combing our goats, then dying with only natural dyes. At Alchemy Story Cashmere products are hand-loomed using ‘Tana Bana’ technique. Which is a term related to weaving meaning ‘the warp and the weft.’ Tana is the thread from right to left or left to right and Bana is the thread from up to down or down to up.

Every cashmere piece from Alchemy Story is an unspoken representation of the place and people who wove the masterpiece, the dyes and the motifs, distinctiveness that is exclusive to each of them. Alchemy Story helps you experience the timeless journey of handloom and celebrate its elegance, beauty and strength.
